This tutorial will teach you an alternative to the expensive snow-covered candle holders in the market. This will be easy, just follow the steps carefully and have fun!
Gather all materials needed for this tutorial:
- a small plain glass jar
- several pieces of white fruit cover foam
- ½ centimeter wide metallic silver ribbon
- green glitters
- a bottle of white glue
- masking tape
- a paint brush
- cutter or any pointed material
- tea light
- kitchen gas lighter
Step 1: Cut several small triangles that from a masking tape and stick it on the small plain jar to form a silhouette of a Christmas tree.
Step 2: Cut the fruit cover foam into small bits of pieces. This will be used as the snow of this project. This is a cheap alternative to the one being sold in the market.
Step 3: Apply generous amounts of white glue on the walls of the jar.
Step 4: Spread the white glue on the walls of the jar using a paint brush.
Step 5: Generously sprinkle ample amounts of the foam snow on the glued walls of the jar. Make sure to completely cover the walls of the jar for better results. Let it dry for an hour or two before proceeding to the next step.
Step 6: Carefully remove the Christmas tree tape from the walls of the jar.
Step 7: Apply generous amounts of white glue on the Christmas tree silhouette.
Step 8: Sprinkle the green glitters on top of the glued Christmas tree silhouette. Let it dry for another hour.
Step 9: Line the metallic ribbon on the borders of the glittered Christmas tree. Carefully glue each layer of the metallic ribbon on the tree so that the glitter won’t fall off.
Step 10: Create a lining on the mouth of the jar using the metallic ribbon. Hot glue this around the mouth of the jar. Let it dry for a minute.
Step 11: Place your tea light and light the holiday candle holder now.
